Balkan music workshop
July 28 to August 2, at The Tapis Vert :
Introduction
INSTRUMENTS : flute, violin/gadulka, kaval, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, accordion, trombone, percussion, tuba, helicon, sousaphone
LEVEL : Participants must be idnependant with their instruments (know their fingerings for wind instruments) and able to learn through oral tradition. No theoretical knowledge of music theory is required.
OBJECTIVE : To familiarize participants with the style and ornamentation of Balkan music, centered on Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Turkey, so they can perform at a party.
